Happy October! It’s finally starting to feel like fall in the bay. There is a bit of dampness in the air, the sun sets earlier, and nothing sounds as good as grabbing a book, a blanket and a cup of coffee on a Sunday morning.
With the beginning of October, we at Common Marker are excited to announce a new feature. Every month we will showcase the work of a new photographer. This month’s featured photographer is my good friend Lauren Pollock (pictured).
I met Lauren in 2011 on Mt. Hood, working on a film called “Cabin in the Woods.” No, not that one, I wish! I was working in Camera and she was working in Production. We were pretty inseparable for the following few months, hanging out, going to shows, frequenting dive bars, etc. Now, three years later, she is based out of Los Angeles and works in the Camera department taking on roles from 2nd Assistant Camera to Director of Photography. She is currently on the road working for a documentary television series. She will be updating us with photos from around the US taken with her Polaroid Land Camera. You can check out some of her previous work here: www.behance.com/ren_plk
We look forward to sharing the work of our friends who inspire us with you.
